Where is the location of the clutch release bearing for a 1996 jetta GLS?
i bout the clutch kit i change everything exept the bearing i cant find the location?? can you tell me the exact location is it a big bolt

- Inside the bellhousing/transmission housing. The thing that bolts to the engine......
- You changed the clutch and you can't find the bearing. That's a good one! If you can't find the bearing you better take it to a shop and have them make sure the clutch is installed right.
- you will need that!, its inside the bell housing, thats what pushes the pressure plate in.
- The release bearing in the 020 transmission in the 96 jetta is located in the end case of the trans. under a green tin cap .Remove the left front wheel you may need to lower trans. a bit but it can be replaced without removing the trans.The bearing lives a very very happy life in a constant bath of gear lube and seldom fails .
