about clutch kits and tranny's......?
i plan on getting a clutch master fx100 clutch kit and a fidanza flywheel, just wondering will this hurt the tranny at all installing an aftermarket clutch and flywheel due to better engagement from the clutch? don't know to much about it and was wondering, and also when would be a time to get a new tranny due to upgrades becuz of gaining more hp? would i need one at all? or would the tranny be just fine? additional details-car make is a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse GT v6 3.0L 5 speed manual......thanks later

- No it will not hurt your tranny to install this aftermarket clutch and flywheel. But aftermarket clutches tend to wear faster than factory clutches due to the more aggressive clutch disk materials. Your factory transmission will hold up fine against any power increase that you have in mind. You need to make huge amounts of power increase over your factory levels before needing to consider rebuilding your transmission to handle the increased power. (Unless you drive a Subaru WRX!)
- Does this "better engagement from the clutch" mean you will be flat changing the gearbox? How much extra HP are you planning on squeezing out of it? If your aiming for big HP sell the gearbox now whilst its still sellable and spend the money straight up. What sort of friction material does the friction plate have? , If it is a ceramic paddle or button type clutch they can lead to accelerated gearbox wear due to the harsh power transfer and are not as durable as a factory clutch.
