How do you remove gear shifter knob for 2007 Jeep - automatic? Trying to remove the factory gear shifter and replace with a chrome shifter. Any idea how to get it off? Was in to the Jeep place by me and they had no idea. He said it needs to be rotated 90 degrees but it did not work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

2002 mercury cougar automatic gear shifter spins clockwise and will shift into gear without foot on brake? please help i looked onlie in order to take off the gear shifter knob so i unscrewed the screw and spun it counter clockwise as told. the whole shaft will now spin clockwise or counter clockwise resulting in the car being able to be shifted from park neutral or drive without my foot on the brake also resulting in key stuck in ignition please help!

Need Gear shifter knob diagram tutorial! (manual transmission)? just wanna ask how these gears works independently or dependently connects or combines to one another. gear 1 is to move forward and gear reverse is to reverse that's one thing for sure. im just wondering how you deal with the other gears while you are on the road already. i have observed to most drivers they're using gear 1 & 2 most of the time. why do it has too many gears in the first place. are those gears are set for an appropriate certain situation? and do it has some sort of combination thing? thanks in advance!

Problem with gear shift knob on 02 Eclipse? I have an automatic 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. The screw on the gear shifter knob has disappeared and it is still functional, but comes completely off and is bothersome. I've been to all the retail stores, like Autozone, looking for a replacement shifter, but none fit. The gears are shifted by pressing down on the plastic tube thing (sorry I'm a girl and don't know the terms.) Anyone know where I can find a replacement for an automatic?

What are the extra dials on a bicycle gear shifter for? I was just wondering what the extra dials on the gear lever is for on a bicycle? The left one has a rotating knob on the top and the right one has a sliding lever facing the rider. I've had a look on-line and can't find the answer. Acura Gear shifter button? I have a Acura CL 1999 3.0. It is an automatic car, and I wanted to change the gear knob. But, it has a button you have to press to enable it to move from P to R to N to D4. I wanted to match the dash wood (burlwood) with the new gear knob. I want a new shifter knob for my car, the original knob kinda lost like the gear markings on the top of it, and I have tried knobs from car places that use the plastic screw cap thing that you screw 3 screws into but those always come loose and I am seriously sick of it. I just want a knob that fits the metal threads perfectly without and adjusting and stuff. lock tight didn't work, it worked for a while but the plastic cap thing ends up warping over time and comes loose right from the base, not from the little screws

2002 Pontaic sunfire Shifter problem!!!!! So i have a 02' Sunfire (lucky me) and besides it being a chick car it really hasn't givin me any huge problems. Auto Transmission shifter moves, but won't change gears? I was in my girlfriend's car (98 Chevy Cavalier z24 with about 120k miles) we went up a steep hill in a parking garage, parked, and when she put it in park the car rolled forward into a cement parking block, the car obviously wasn't in 'park' The shifter knob was in the "park' location, but the light up indicator on the dash still said drive....with her foot on the break we tried to put it in other gears. the shifter can move back and forth normally but the indicator could only move down (from park, reverse, neutral, drive, 3, 2, 1) so it is currently stuck at 1, we then turned off the car and removed the key, put it back in and the car will no longer start (i'm assuming because it is not in the usual "park" position needed to turn the car on.) My best guess would be some sort of shifter linkage or cable is broken or not engaging like it should.......any idea what it could be and possible ballpark cost to have a shop repair/replace) THANKS SO MUCH!

B6 Audi A4, how can one tell if it is equipped with a CVT Transmission? I've been doing some googleing and I read that only the I4 FWD ones have it, but I want to be sure. I hear that the CVT is prone to failure so I want to avoid those. Does the CVT look different than a regular automatic? I've been looking at used cars online and the pictures that Ive seen for automatic 1.8T AWD A4s have the gear shifter/knob with a slot to the side with a + and - for you to shift manually. Isn't this what the CVT does, and so shouldn't it just be on the FWD models? So I really just want to know how to identify a CVT so I can avoid them. Thanks. I'm essentially asking if you can tell the difference between an automatic and a CVT Audi A4 just by looking at it. I can ask the seller, but thats no guarantee, he/she might have no clue what I'm talking about.

BMW Shifter Knob Loose? The shifter knob on my 1996 328i( automatic ) is loose, it moves up and down. Also the button on the knob that unlocks the shifter is not working, it feels like its disconnected, this is a problem as the shifter can be knocked into another gear. How can I fix this? If it is not fixable, how do I get the knob off so I can replace it with a new one?

My '94 Toyota Camry starts fine, but is currently immobile because it will not allow me to push in the side knob that enables the car to switch gears. I am not sure what the little knob is called, but it is the one on the left side of the gear shifter that you push in with your thumb while moving the stick to another gear. What could be the problem?

2006 Camry shifter button will only go in after 15 minutes or more of the car warming. Please help? My Toyota Camry is a automatic 4 cylinder and the button that you push in on the shift knob will not go in sometimes when trying to go from park. It usually takes about 15 minutes while the car is running before the shift button will allow me to move into gear. I'm thinking maybe the shift cable is loose. Please help. The dealer is trying to charge almost $500 to fix this but I don't think it's something that serious.

Why won't my car shift? I have a 2001 Jaguar s-type and I cannot move the gear shifter from park to anything. It has an automatic transmission. I have checked a few fuses to see if there was perhaps one blown but I'm not sure, entirely, what fuses to check. If it is something else, please help me or if you believe it's a fuse please let me know what kind of fuses to look for in my owners manual and a brief description of. P.S. I was in a hurry and I broke the whole shifter knob off becuase it wouldn't shift out of gear. Just tell me the original problem. I know I have to get the shifter knob replaced now. I'm a complete moron when it comes to car repairs and I HATE dealing with repair shops. The Shifter Knob Keeps Getting Stuck in Park!!!! HELP!? Yesterday the shifter knob in my husbands mustang stopped working. I have no idea why as I have never had or heard of this problem before. It's an automatic, but the stick to move it in/out of park, drive, neutral, etc. is where it would be if it was a manual. There is nothing wrong with the transmission (I think). The car shifts in and out of gears just fine, but after you push the stick into park and let go of the button, good luck getting it to move after that. My husband shut off his car in neutral last night because he had to crush the shifter knob button with a pair of pliers to get it into drive to get home. After it's out of park it shifts just fine... I think if I can figure out how to get the shifter knob off I'll be able to figure out what's wrong. I tried pulling on it, twisting it, cursing at it, and I can't get it off. I don't want to break it either. Has anyone had this problem before? It's a 2000 Mustang. Any help is appreciated.

Is it the clutch or transmission or even both? I have an 03 eclipse rs with a 2.4l 4g64 engine. 5spd. it was making a knocking, grinding sound. i knew it wasnt coming from the engine because it would never make the sound when in neutral. it would make the noise whenever i pushed the clutch pedal in or began to drive.... i got stranded on the side of the rode yesterday and now i can move the shifter knob into all the gears without even pushing the clutch in??? what is the problemmm??

Car with tons of problems but company went out of business? I own a 2004 Olsmobile Alero! POS, NEVER buy one. I've been having HORRIBLE problems since 31,000 miles. Sh*t you not, my warranty ended at 30,000! Did they plan that sh8T? Anyways.. here are just a few; service engine light, shaky driving, WINDOW KNOB POPPED OFF, worst of ALL the KNOB FOR THE GEAR SHIFTER POPPED OFF, we have to use it like a key EVERY TIME we put it in park or remove from park! Sometimes we'll be in traffic and need to reverse and it will drop under the seat (almost killing us many times) anyways.. I AM COMPLETELY UNHAPPY with this purchase and would LOVE to tell someone about it (someone who can fix it) BUT I heard that Oldsmobile went out of business.. what do I do.. who do I CALL? And don't say "tough Sh*T or there's nothing you can do" I know there is something and don't answer unless you actually have decent input! Spedometer/Odometer troubles...Please help. 10 points :)? I'm a girl...who knows hardly anything about cars..so please help me out! I have a 2001 Mazda Tribute, which has the gear shifter thing that puts it into reverse, drive, etc, that comes off of my steering wheel. On the end of the gear knob, there is a button that you can press for Overdrive. Ok, so here's the problem: Yesterday, the display on my dash for overdrive kept blinking, as if I was turning it on and off. However, I was not. Then, my digital odometer went to dashes instead of 92000, and my speedometer went to 0, even though I was going about 25-30 miles per hour. Then, the digital display odometer would put the total number of miles back up, and that's when my speedometer would kick on. I don't know why my car is doing this...is it serious? It's been happening more and more today. Also, do you know about how much this would cost to fix?

My bike's front derailleur does not reach the 3rd gear. any help? I have adjusted the derailleur so that it is stretched to the max and can not be pulled out any farther. It still does not push the chain far enough from the 2nd to the 3rd. Ive tried taking the wire off and pulling it, twisting the knob next to the shifter so that it is tightist. Im thinking that the gear is too far from the derailleur and might have to be moved closer but i dont know how to do that.

Shifter linkage issue for '95 F150 manual? When I shift it easily goes into all gears except 1st. 1st no longer exists, it would seem. While I was driving my shifter knob became slack. There is no grinding sound. Before this happened I was having a very difficult time shifting it into 1st. I had to use all of my strength in order to slam it into place. It's a '95 Ford F150 manual transmission (obviously) 4.9 liter straight 6. I'm honestly not sure what the problem is but I've been told it's the shifter linkage. If anybody could confirm this or tell me what else the problem could be feedback is much appreciated. It's all I've got! When it went into 1st, it did not grind.

Clicking sound problem in my shift knob / shifter when in Park - 2002 Honda Civic ex auto trans? I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX Auto Trans. When the car is in Park there is a clicking/popping sound in my shift knob. I can feel something is moving. Yet when I press brake or when the car is in reverse, neutral, drive, or any gear..this doesn't happen. Car drives fine and no slip on transmission, I have been driving this car for more than 6 months. It just annoy me a bit and want to know if it can be fix for cheap. Or if some1 can identify the cause to this problem to me. I asked my mechanic he said he have to open it up and see what is the problem. I ask him how much he said it depends on # labor hours. The problem is the shift interlock mechanism is moving on its own (thats how the continous clicking sound are make), is there any solution to this?

My 1998 dodge neon sometimes wont go into third gear, and pops out of gear and stays out of gear. Whats wrong? When im driving my car sometimes when I go to shift into third gear, the shifting knob will just stop movving and when I push up into third it will vibrate, I have to skip and move to third. Often it shifts into third but will make a horrible Grinding noise when I do. Also sometimes it will pop out of gear completely (out of thid)( and wont go into any gear until Istop the car completely. hold in the clutch and slam the shifter between third and fourth, This really cannot be healthy and im worried about my car breakign down on the way to work = ( can anyone help me pleasE? 2004 Toyota Corolla Electrical problem? When I turn on the lights in my car, the backlight for the gear shifter (P R N D 2 L) sometimes will not come on until I tap at it firmly with my hand. Also, I get the same problem with a backlight that lights one of the control knobs on the HVAC system until I tap at it firmly then it comes on. What causes this and how can I fix it?

Damages from car manufacturer for faulty part? I crashed my car (2002 BMW 325i) into a stop sign beside the entrance to a super market (Costco) on 04/19/2008. The gear knob came off the shifter when I was trying to change gears and distracted me causing me to loose control, hit the curb and crash into a stop sign. Both the airbags deployed and my car is beyond repair. Nobody was injured except for minor air bag injuries. The police have documented the incident but were nice enough and didn't give me a ticket since nobody was injured. Can I claim damages from BMW for the faulty gear knob??

How can i fix little problems with the lights and switches in my 94 civic? hi i just got a 94 civic, its really nice but it has little details that need some work. the power lock switch only works to unlock all four doors, but not to lock'em. all four windows work but kinda lag it. the light in gear shifter, the PRND.... doesnt work. the clock looks all dim and always resets to 1 o'clock when i take the key off. and the light around the knobs of the ac dont light up. when i got it the radio had been stolen, ive been tring to instal a new one. the stereo works fine but it also resets like the clock. what should i do? any suggestions? thanks

Anybody know a good theme for an older semi-classic truck? It's a '77 Ford 4x4. I've dropped in a 351 big block and I've found 32x11.50's to put on it. I don't need nothing too big or fancy on the outside, but the local auto parts store sells accessories from shifter knobs (it's a stick w/granny) to floor mats to vinyl stickers and all kinds of goodies. Of course, I can always get things over the internet. I plan on keeping the truck the original bright orange color. I was wondering what kind of theme, if any, I should do the insides. Give me your opinion. Being's it's my first vehicle, I'd like something somewhat fancy but not too much. After all, it's also my work/play truck. I was also thinking about swapping out the bench seat for a couple bucket seats and a little console? Since it's a stick and the 2nd/4th/R gear's don't have much hand room between the seat. Whew. Thanks for the opinion I had orginally planned on going chrome, but now I'm seriously thinking about it. I've had a fake chrome pair of horns you find on older cadillac's I was toying with putting on the front hood. I was also thinking about going with a chrome skull theme, with door locks, gear knob, chain steering wheel, a brakelight skull that fits in your hitch, and a light-up cig lighter. Too cheesy? Transmission/Shifter Problems? 1996 Mercury? I'm having some issues with my 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis... It's like this.. One day, my shifting column (or whatever you call the lever that lets you select gears) just kinda went dead between reverse and neutral. Nothing happens there, it just slides around, it doesn't shift. All the other things it does are still the same, like locking from park position on the shifter to reverse, until you put the break, and requiring you to pull it back to force it into 2nd and 1st gear... It seems that it's slid off somehow.. What happens is, that sometimes park is reverse, sometimes neutral is reverse, drive is neutral, gear 2 is drive... it's everywhere! And more of a problem is that NOW, park is actually PARK alot less often, and about 80% of the time is REVERSE... It's REFUSING to go into park! This only happened last week, but it's getting worse! What all could be wrong? I also hear some kind of hiss, or click or something coming from the left side of the steering wheel underneath my knob for the headlights... it makes almost a squishing noise when I move it from where neutral should be to where drive should be....

multtiple malfunctions occur when A/C or heater is turned on, Details below? Background info: 1998 Pontiac Grand Am. When knob is turned from OFF to any other position the A/C or Heat comes on. The fan speed control knob is a separate knob and it does not have it's own OFF setting-just low-to-high variable settings so the turning the airflow position switch from OFF to any other setting causes the air to flow automatically. The Problem: Turning this system on causes all of the dash indicator lights to come on(Oil,Engine,Brake,etc.). Additionally, the gear shifter will not come out of the Park position. The person who own's the car has been replacing a '20' fuse in the under-the-hood fuse box. The fuse that is being burned and replaced everytime this happens is the center, aft-most fuse-(furthest from the bumber,closest to the driver, middle fuse of 3 fuses on that aft-most row). OBD-II codes showing are: P- 753 & 758(shift solenoid 'A' & 'B' circuit electrical), 740-I have this one covered, 1665-n/a,1676-n/a, & 1860- TCC PWM solenoid CKT electrical. pls help.

Do I need engine mounts? I have a 99 civic 5spd, when I am driving in any gear (its worse in 3rd) if I let off the gas or give the car gas my shifter knob seems to move quite a bit. I know a little motion is normal but it seems a bit abnormal. Engine mounts? Transmission mounts???

problem with stick shift car? my car when i push the shifter knob towards first it doesnt jump back to the middle when i let go it stays there is that any serious problem? (its still in neut it just wont go back between 3rd and 4th gear it stays between 1st and 2nd and yes it still shifts fine)

'05 Impala won't shift into Park...? My 2005 Impala with 3.8 V6 and automatic with floor shifter suddenly won't shift into PARK....I shifted out of PARK normally when started car this morning and now it only goes up as far as R....acts like it is being blocked from going into PARK....Had no previous warning of a problem...I thought that it was the little release button on the shifter knob, but it works properly when trying to downshift manually to a lower gear than OD...It won't downshift manually from OD to 3 unless I press the button, and it works properly that way....Does the brake/ Park interlock safety switch also prevent the car from going into PARK if the switch goes bad? Car has 66,000 miles with a floor shift..not a column shift... I have had to resort to parking the car in neutral with parking brake applied and then removing the positive cable from battery..as I've noticed that even with key off in neutral, I am getting a draw on the battery as my battery idiot light will remain lit in neutral.... I got the car into PARK...I pulled out my service manual and read about a safety device that works between my ignition switch and my floor shifter via a cable....Something is stretched or out of adjustment with it....I ran the adjustment screw as far as it would go....and it is still binding up....I pulled the center console out and right now am working the safety release by hand to put it in and out of PARK until I can figure out how to fix it

'92 Topaz cant get out of park? I am having a problem with my '92 Topaz. I cant get it out of park. My shift knob popped off when I pressed on the side release button so I thought if I replace the knob that would be the fix. So I had to buy a universal one and it worked for about 24hrs and then its started happening again. Not allowing me to gear out of park. I would push and push on the release button and then finally with all my strength I was able to get it out of park. I thought I would try to adjust the position of the new shifter knob but still no luck. What can this be? Why is this happening? I noticed when I took the knob off there was a white plastic cord of some kind inside the metal shaft which I think needs to be pushed down to change gears...? I was told by someone that I should be able to push this down with my thumb... Is that true? Because there is no way that it will go down I tried and tried with my hand. Please can anybody help?

2004 BMW M3 SMG transmission? Theres this 04 BMW M3 Coupe with 82k KM's. and it has a SMG Transmission, my question is What is a SMG Transmission? Like i know theres 2 modes for Automatic and Manuel. But with the paddle shifters, do you just push one paddle (upshift) and it changes the gear for you? and with manuel do you just shift the knob shifter and it changes it or is there a clutch you use for shifting?

1979 Dodge Colt 4 spd manual, cant find reverse.? Just bought this car used, and non-running. Previous owner didn't know much about what was wrong. So I bought the car not running, and fixed it in his driveway, by filing the points in the distributor, and cleaned them up and drove it home. Long story short, by the time I got it running, the guy was long gone with his money, so I couldn't ask him about reverse. The 4 speed manual shifts great 1-4, but I can't seem to find reverse. The shifter knob, says Hurst, and there is no lock ring to pull up on, and no button to push on the shifter to engage a reverse lockout. The engine is the Mitsubishi 4 cyl 1.6 Litre Vin K. The guy said reverse was near 4th gear, but I cant find it, if by some chance I have, it goes forward, all gears I can get into go forward.

problem with manual trans? ok ive asked this question before but apparently people didn't understand what i meant cause they said itw as normal when i push the stick to the left in neutral and let go it doesn't go back to the middle like it usually does... it still shifts into gears perfectly fine just doesn't jump back to the middle like most sticks do in neut... so here is a lil diagram of the prob 1 3 5 x 2 4 R (x is where the shifter knob is in neut when i let go) INSTEAD OF 1 3 5 ---x 2 4 R (just used dashes because it doesnt show hte x in the middle) but shifting gears is still perfectly fine it doesn't slip it doesn't fall out of gear when it is in gear that is the only problem is that anything major? and if so what is it and how mcuh would it cost? thank you

Shift Linkage Problem? (Automatic '84 Camaro)? First of all, I had to bolt up my loose shift linkage back to my trans pan about two months ago because the car was stuck in reverse and my shifter knob flopped back and forth freely. Last night, I encountered a similar problem where I can shift into Park, Reverse, and Neutral but when I go into overdrive through Drive, 2nd, and 1st it engages one of those but the shifter will now flop back and forth between. In addition when i try to drive the car it seems to be stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear cause I creep along and it feels like I'm in neutral though i'm moving. A few people suggested a faulty shift linkage. Can anyone please offer me some insight?

2001 dodge 3/4 ton van trans. feels like somthing is a wry.? recently after a 13 day period of hard freezes here ne fl. i got in my dodge van,and noticed slow to take off.has an overdrive setting button in shifter knob.drove for the day to see what would happen,engaged in overdrive,over drive off noticed similar movement in both settings hesitation and slight throw in gear as reached shift speed,then manually put in 3rd(at tran)then into drive and had good torque,but can not do this for long.problem i do not,should service,flush,replace,or rebuild van has 87000 bought used 2 yrs.ago no trans service as of yet,the dealer i purchased from repair a seepage around pan with sealant i assume filter replaced at that time,but cant say for sure .did put a synthetic trans.fluid back in reccomended for chrysler s/dodge,any comments ,thanks tony

ok so i borrowed my friend's Audi A4 (stick shift), and i can drive it fine, but I can't find reverse. help? So the knob indicates that R is top left [top line reads R135, bottom 246]. But when i push it all the way to the left and then go up, i get first gear. Is there a trick to this on audis? Like you have to push a button, or push the shifter in or something? Thanks!

98 dodge neon transmission? i own a 98 neon with the Dual overhead cam engine and a 5 speed manual transmission and it has hardend motor mounts, a flowmaster exhast, and a hurst short shifter with the original shift knob (all installed by the previous owner) the problem is that when im under acceleration the shifter frequently slips out of 3rd and 5th gear( like the shift knob pops out of place) it happens to come out more in 5th and the previous owner brought it into the dealership and they couldnt make it do it but after i bought it then it started doing it again im pretty sure its biding on something because when you put it in 5th gear it dont seem to go all the way in it kinda klunks with a metal on metal feel im thinking its a shift cable adjustment but the manual on it says it has two cables a crossover cable and a selecter cable and only shows how to adjust the crossover cable and idk what cable is not adjusted right

where is my 4x4 hi and lo at? I have a 78 gmc jimmy full size. Its 4x4 but the knob doesnt say where they are it just has a picture of 4 wheels. it has the 350 gears not the 400. Does any one know where every thing is on the shifter?

Why does the stick shift on my car move by itself when I tap the gas? It only happens in 5th gear. My car is an early 90's toyota corolla. Every other gear, when I hold the shift knob and tap the gas as I am going down the road, I can't feel anything abnormal, and the shifter feels secure in it's gear's seating. With 5th, the shifter is not as secure, and when I tap the accelerator as I am riding down the highway, the shifter bumps back and forth slightly; and if I hold the knob while I am doing this, I can feel the vibration of the engine (or transmission?) through the stick itself. Am I about to lose 5th gear?

downtub shifters click/tension? i am building a road bike i know a little bit but am doing it more to learn and just for the fun but the bike im building is an older peugeot with dowtube shifters. i want to keep with that look and have ridden two different bikes with downtube shifters one where the shift happened on tension and i had to "find" the gear and one where the gear clicked into place. i understand that one was newer than the other by about 5-10 years. are there special shifting knobs i must buy for a "clicking derailleur and different for the tension ones or is all the difference in the derailleur. does the set up of the shifters on the bike dictate what i get. i wanted to know before i buy. i would prefer the click as opposed to the tension but am not totally opposed either way. thanks so then are you saying that the downtube shifters that click are also called indexed shifters? or are those the ones that are up on the handlebars and move within the braking system i thought those were called sti. my lingo knowledge is bad sorry.

1995 Toyota Landcruiser 4x4 buttons? How they work? Please help!? I have a 95 toyota landcruiser. Going into snow soon. I just purchased it used and I have no idea how 4x4 system works on this cruiser. It is automatic and has 2 buttons next to gear shift. (#1button reads POWER #2.button reads 2nd). I know the vehical is already running in all wheel drive and shifter is in HIGH setting. On the dash is turn knob that says (rear lock/front and rear lock). Can someone please help me figure out how to use these features or explain them to me? Is my vehicle supost to be running in all wheel drive high as it is now? THANKS a million!!!

Why are my shift knob numbers turned wrong? I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX with OEM shifter and I just bought a JDM type R shift knob. But when I put the knob on the numbers were upside down. Can anyone tell me why they are like that and how can i fix is so that the numbers (gears) are not upside down on the knob? So im new to yahoo answers and dont know how to comment you back on that.. but they are upside down when I screw it tight.. I put the nut on there but when I try to straighten the number and tighten the nut up to the knob the knob gets loose

Remove shift knob from 1997 Toyota Camry? Please Answer!? the car is automatic transmission and it a button has to be pushed to change gears. It also has that tricky overdrive button which is what I think is holding me up. There are wires on it and i believe thats whats stopping me but idk how to remove them. I unscrewed the screws in my handle myself but it wont come off cuz of the wires. And now im mad because i cant get it back to the way it was, anyway i want to put a new handle on or fix the old one so does anyone have specifics on how to deal with the overdrive button and wires. Is overdrive even necessary, im not drag racing so i know i wont need it lol. If possible please let me know if i can just cut those wires to get the shifter back to normal cause i think i messed it up. Any toyota owners, please help. Im 17 and im getting this car in a week for my birthday, i want to have that knob working, thanks

How can I get a new shifter knob that fits a stock 2002 Hyundai Elantra? I want a new shifter knob for my car, the original knob kinda lost like the gear markings on the top of it, and I have tried knobs from car places that use the plastic screw cap thing that you screw 3 screws into but those always come loose and I am seriously sick of it. I just want a knob that fits the metal threads perfectly without and adjusting and stuff.

How can i fix little problems with the lights and switches in my 94 civic? hi i just got a 94 civic, its really nice but it has little details that need some work. the power lock switch only works to unlock all four doors, but not to lock'em. all four windows work but kinda lag it. the light in gear shifter, the PRND.... doesnt work. the clock looks all dim and always resets to 1 o'clock when i take the key off. and the light around the knobs of the ac dont light up. when i got it the radio had been stolen, ive been tring to instal a new one. the stereo works fine but it also resets like the clock. what should i do? any suggestions? thanks
