Anyone know why a 2000 pontiac Grand Prix makes a scraping sound when making a hard left turn? I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. When I make a U-turn or something similar, it makes a scraping or grinding sound. This is only when I turn left. It does this in reverse, also. (I think it's louder in reverse.) I am not braking. It doesn't scrape all the time, just when doing a hard turn. We checked the power steering fluid and it's OK. Does anyone have any clues as to what this might be? I would appreciate any help you might have. Thanks so much!

What should the idle be set at in my pontiac grand prix? I've been doing a lot of work on my 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix Le within the last week just to get it back running again. I finally figured out the problm was in my ECM and replaced it. Now I am not sure that I have set the idle high enough...it seems like the engine is starving a little at the stoplights. Accelerated quickly in 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix? I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix. Last night I was getting on the freeway and a semi was coming up fast. There were cars behind me so I couldn't slam on my brakes so I accelerated. My car felt like it went up 3 gears in less than 5 seconds to get to 65mph. Now she's acting funny. Somewhat hesitating between 2nd and 3rd gear or 30 and 40 mph. Give me some GOOD clues.

Has anyone experienced any major problems with the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix? I purchased a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT about a year ago with about 44,000 miles on it. I haven't had any problems out of it other than the normal items that require attention (brakes,rotors oil changes) due to wear and tear. It has about 67,000 miles on it (most are highway miles) and I am wondering what type of issues am I looking at as it approaches 70,000 miles. Other than the poor gas milage (city driving at 20mpg) this car is awesome, especially on the highway (30mpg). Another issue that I have is that the car is black and everytime I wash it the car seems to collect dust after a couple of hours.

Whining Noise from under the hood of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix? I recently bought a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, and love the car, except for when I accelerate under 30 mph or so. My car makes an annoying whining sound, I already had it serviced, and they put a new alternator in, though that didn't help, and the dealership isn't being real carring, despite my warranty. If anyone has a Pontiac Grand Prix, on mage 5-12 of the big manual, part "G" in the picture, the power steering fluid resevoir (the one that has a belt attached to the side) appears to be where the noise was coming from. The whine from the car sometimes worsens while turning and accelerating, and it wasn't until moments ago looking at the manual that I realized the part which appears to be causing the whine was the "Power Steering Fluid Resevoir". Is it possible that this part is causing the whining even while going in a straight line? Note the whine only happens while my foot is on the gas. I will provide more detail if asked, 10pts goes to the best answer. EDIT: I'm asking, is it more so the lack of enough steering fluid, more than the piece itself?
