Can you put a stock flywheel with a performance clutch what are the results? I have a Honda civic 01 ex with 90k and I yes ran into some problems with my transmission I need a hole new clutch flywheel pressure disc. the hole kit and I would I would like to know if I can buy yes the performance pressure plate and disc and buy a stock flywheel from Honda would that effect the performance of the clutch. any links were can I get a good clutch kit please help .thank you
What will buying a performance clutch as compared to my stock clutch do for my performance? What will it do? I know that the soft clutch makes it easier to shift. I really don't know what the hard clutch performance kits do. Anyway, what benefits do you get from a performance clutch, and do sportscars such as the lambroghini, porsche, ferrari what kind of clutches do they have more of soft clutch or hard clutch? I have a Toyota Celica GT-S and the clutch is a hard clutch for stock. I've test driven a Mazda RX-8 and the clutch for it felt like a soft clutch. Both the Celica GT-S and RX-8 are high end power engine cars. Well, my Celica GT-S is a front wheel drive. Is it different performance results for different cars or generally all hard clutches perform similiarily like the softer clutches? Don't forget my porsche, ferrari, and lambroghini question either please.
performance clutch kit (black diamond make )? hi all ive recently just bought a black diamond performance clutch for my ford fiesta xr2i 1.8 16v .. but i think the guy has just kept the clutch and fitting just a original clutch! without taking the box off to check is they any other way i could check? is this true that the clutch pedal should be really stiff.. because mines not stiff at all it seems just like before.. it pulls of quicker and seems to drive ok but obviously its gonna seem better a bit as my recent original clutch was nearly gone (worn) any advice of how a performance clutch should feel ect?? thanks :)
What kind of clutch kit should I buy? I have a 97' Mazda B2300 SE, the clutch will need replacement soon and I'd like to know what brand and type I should get. Is it worth it to get a high performance clutch? It's a V4, I drive it like it's a V4...so I guess my question is....will a $300 high performance clutch last me twice as long as a regular $180 clutch?

I have a 2001 ford mustang and I was wondering if I purchased a "high performance clutch kit", when I take it to the mechanic is there any other part I would have to purchase in order to have it installed? would I have to have a new motor or anything? and also..I noticed the gas pedal to be a little loose, is there any way to totally replace the pedals with new ones?

Are clutch kits made for automatics?? i see clutch kits everytime i look for performance parts for my 1995 z28 and i was wondering if those are made for automatic and manual or just manual also what exactly do they do?? Oh ic i was thinking automatic cars had some type of automatic clutches like atv's and snowmobiles.....i just had a new trans. and 3:73 gears put in the rear end........anyways what part would you reccomend to add a substancial amount of power without spending over $1500
2004 mustang clutch problem? my gearbox got messed up so bought new gearbox and performance clutch kit and flywheel my car gives me alot of problems few weeks back its self starter got burn then got that new one now i was driving yesterday and suddenly this sound started coming when i was pressing the full clutch and when i was leaving the clutch the soundz like tik tik tik tik tik and when im pressing the half clutch there aint no sound and while shifting into 2nd the gear is making same noice!! i thing its the baring?

F-150 clutch suggestions? I have a f-150 thats has a bad clutch and needs to be rplaced. I take the truck in the woods alot and will take it in the mud here and there but never beat on it. I was wondering if i should just look for an oem replacement clutch kit? or look for more of a higher performance kit? It is my daily driver truck too so it needs to be drivable. any suggestions? its a 93 and I also use it to pull other guys out when they get stuck so its kinda a pull truck as well (probably should have added that) and it has 105k miles now. im sure the guy before me changed the clutch but i got it a few months ago and im not sure when it was last changed

The full job is going to cost $200 labor and $500 for parts. $700 sound like a good deal correct? Getting a racing clutch will improve grip and performance but will wear faster?

98 mustang clutch question.? Im a small 5'2" woman. ive heard that the clutch pedal in my recently purchased 98 mustang is lower then other cars. (several friends have driven it and they all say the same.) when i sit in it & drive... i am all the way up belly to steering wheel. is there a way to bring it up? i saw something called a "Adjustable Clutch Kit" what is it exactly and will it help me so im not sitting in my steering when when i drive? does it affect the clutch pedal performance? im told that it is better to step all the way to floor. i feel better to step all the way doesn but again... im shirt with short legs so i have to sit very close. if i use this kit... will it bring it up so im not sitting so close to steering wheel?
92 integra vs. 96 jetta? 92 integra rs this is my dad's car, and he wants to get something new. he's offering to sell it to me for about $2500. it has 120k miles and it's an automatic. i've driven it a few times and i enjoy the ride, but i'd really like to get a stick shift. 96 jetta gl there's a jetta down the street from my house for $2300, reduced from $2700. the guy is moving in august and he's anxious to get rid of it. i test drove it on friday and it runs pretty well. the guy is a mechanic and he lists all of the upgrades (mostly suspension) that he's done to it. he's also giving away a performance clutch kit and an extra set of alloys and tires with it. it has 180k miles.
Is the transmission the same on a 2.2 and 2.4 Sunfire? Will the same clutch work on both size? Im trying to order a new clutch and saw a Zoom performance one. But it only says it fits on years 00-02. Clutch and flywheel or clutch kit?!? My boyfriend has a Honda Civic Si. Not sure of the year but I know it's in the 2000's. His clutch is going out and he needs a new one. Being the wonderful g/f I am, I am going to get him one. j/k But really....I know he wants the Stage 2 performance but I don't know if I should get the clutch and flywheel or the "clutch kit" I need help!! Power & boost with supporting modifications? I really like the idea of going to a used car lot, and purchasing a '99-04 Mustang GT for about no less than $3,000. I want this to be my weekend drag strip car. First of all, let's get this straight. I am only wanting this car to be for the track, not for a daily driver. So with that being said, I would eventually want to have a professional install a Hellion Twin-Turbo System (of course after I purchased it) all for about under $9,300. With the supporting modifications, I understand. The transmission, the rear end, brakes, suspension need to all work in harmony with the Twin Turbos installed. How can I beef up the Rear End, Engine and Transmission before I do anything to really increase those ponies? I think I would need a Gear Kit, Performance Clutch, and... Locker Unit or Performance Axles, and maybe heavy duty internals and all forged?? Yes, I am financially able to purchase a '99-04 Mustang GT, I am one second away from doing it. (Maybe Saturday).
What gearbox oil to use with a sports clutch? The car is a VW Golf 5, 2.0 TDI BKD engine, 6+1 SP Manual Gearbox. I have installed a sports clutch and a single mass flywheel recently (SACHS Performance kit) and I got this very annoying, very loud, rattling noise ever since. Some mechanics told me that it is coming from the gearbox, and the only solution they could think of is that I should try using a more viscid gearbox oil. I'm asking this here hoping to get answers or tips from people who had a similar problem in the past (diesel engine + sports clutch + noise) or from experienced engineers. Thank you! I NEED help finding a GOOD clutch for my Honda Civic? My Honda is a 1996 Civic LS. The car is German Specs, or European. I really want to get some help with a knowledgeable person about what type and where to buy the BEST clutch. I don't car for speed so much, just a very good/reliable clutch. Most clutches I hear about are refurbished. Can anyone point me to a clutch which is maybe new and handles perfectly with this auto? My car is a 1996 Honda Civic LS, 1.6 Liter engine. I Want More HorsePower In My Car!? I Drive a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, 2.2l 4 cyl. 5-speed. I Bought It Cause i loved it. it has a Xenon Body Kit And It Was Lowered. its purple light grey and dark grey awesome paint job. It Had Amazing torque every time i went off the line my head would tilt back. but now it dont do it cuz my clutch is tearing up cuz i didnt really know how to drive a stick when i got it and kinda burned it up but besides that. i want moe hp i think it has 200-250. I was wondering should i fix this engine up? make it push like 300-350? Buying turbo kit, performance chip, senor chip, performance clutch, cold air intake, performance dual exhaust, ECU (ECM). and if i do fix it up should i get engine rebuilt cuz it has 170k miles on it but engine runs great....? Items should cost about $3000 roughly (using EBAY) Or get a v6 for it and fix it up? to handle more? and if i should get a v6 for it. which 1 will fit?, they only made 4 cyl for cavaliers and idk what kind of v6 will fit does any1 know? how to bleed slave cylinder on 07 cobalt ls 2.2L? i had an absolute disaster everything to the last drop got drained out of the clutch hydraulic lines the slave cylinder and master cylinder when my clutch went out, i installed a new clutch but it's not OEM its a organic clutch kit the pressure plate has little bit more resistance i have tried to pump air out using a vacuum pump while adding brake fluid that didn't work can some one tell me if i am doing it wrong or i have to get a different slave cylinder that would work with performance organic clutch pressure plate thanks

Do I have to premix the fuel in my Yamaha Zuma? I have a 2008 Yamaha Zuma. There is a clutch kit installed and a performance exhaust, but no big bore. Am I suppose to premix the fuel that I put in it or am I fine just putting in regular fuel from the ga station? I have heard that I don't need to because there already is an underseat oil tank. I have also heard I should because of the mods done to it. What should I be doing?

What Kind of Clutch Should I Get For My Mazda MX3? I have a 1994 mazda mx3. The clutch just recently went out and i need to replace it. What kind of kit should i get. Im not racing it but if a racing kit would take more ware and give better performance, im all for it. Anyway i dont know much about clutches but would like one that can take some ware. Do you know what went wrong with American Cars? They took away the Clutch from stick shift cars, actually the whole clutch kit and the manual stick shift with the shifters. That was a major blow to the people who want to feel the performance of their cars. Then on top of that they gave in to the superchargers over the turbo kits. I love Turbo Kits better than I love superchargers. Superchargers are good for low end torque, but Turbo engines are great for high end torque which is basically more top speed. Yeah, if General Motors could remanufacture all their cars I'm sure this would work for them. I don't buy too many cars that don't have my traditional stick shift and clutch, or a turbo engine. Take this advice from a consumer hoping to purchase a car in the future. I will never buy a car that doesn't have those two options for me. A lot of Americans other than myself feel the same way. That's why General Motors done poorly over the years. Foreign cars never changed anything and that's why they're still selling.

need help fitting aftermarket performance parts on a yamaha rx100? i recently bought an second hand 1992 model rx 100. i want to performance tune it. this is what i would like to do. rebore the 98cc and make it a 117cc replace the standard 50mm X 50mm piston with a 52mm X 52 mm one. re-port the engine. replace the clutch with a less tooth configuration and change the carburator.-here is the problem. i know that a mikuni vm22 can be fitted.but i'm not pretty sure to what to do with the needles and jets.i know that it has to be larger.but will a larger needle and jet works properly with a vm22?do i have to change the air filter? i need maximum power output.and off course,i dont want any overheating issues.which all companies produces a 52mm piston kit for rx100? where can i get these parts from kerala? these are my plans,but if you have a better suggestion it'll be a great help.as i said, i need more power and no overheating issues. thanks in advance!

Best DVD, Books or Manual for learning auto repair for beginners.? I want to know if someone has a recommendation for DVDs, books/manuals on auto repair and auto customizing. I want to learn how to do basic repair and maintenance and then progress all the way up to me being able to do engine swaps and full customizing. I have a little experience working on cars, but it is little. So I want something that can basically teach me from scratch all the way on up. I would take a automotive course at a community college or something but this is just for a hobby and I just don't have the time to go to a trade school or anything. I want a learn at your own pace type of thing. My goal is to ultimately customize a car for performance. Kind of like how people do all that crazy stuff with Honda Civics, Preludes and Del Sols. Turbo Kits, Cold Air Intakes, Short Shift Clutch, Body Kits....the whole nine yards. I want to learn it all. Any suggestions?
2005 Scion tC? Good car? hi im looking at buying a used Black SAnd Pearl 2005 Scion tC. the owner got it in 2005 new. he's kept up with it, just a few door dings, and has told me and showed me the following things that are on it. everything is TRD. supercharger, exhaust, lowering springs, front struts and rear shocks, rear sway bar, front strut tie bar, big brake kit, LSD (whats LSD?) clutch, short shifter, ground effects kit and pedistal spoiler, and 18 inch rims (the rims were paint black with a red lip)...... none TRD parts he said are pistons and rods, and a NST pulley, and he showed me the receipt for the parts and install receipt from the mechanic that did it. he's throwing in the OEM pistons and rods with the OEM pulley, with the sale. he said he only ran it hard a couple times a month at the track but it was mostly for show. it has roughly 64000 miles, i dont remember exact, he said he only drove it to and from school since high school, and is needing a bigger vehicle so he wants to sell it. he let my uncle, who works for Toyota, look over it and my uncle says its fine and that there is nothing wrong with it at all. he (tC owner) also recently purchased an aftermarket performance valvetrain kit and stage 2 cams (im not sure what that is but i'll provide the links he showed me) and said that he never installed them but he's selling them with the car.... he's asking for $7K, but is willing to go down as low as $6K, since he is selling those parts, that were never installed, along with the car. http://www.dezod.com/pd-brian-crower-valve-spring-retainer-kit-2azfe.cfm http://www.dezod.com/pd-brian-crower-na-stage-2-camshaft-2azfe.cfm what do you think? oh, and dont tell me about any other car, i want this one, i like it... also im not paying insurance. and its a graduation present...

I need help quick! MK4 Supra? I bought a 1994 Toyota Supra Auto non turbo last year, I bought a twin turbo engine from JDM in Japan with 5 speed transmission, wiring harness, ecu and everything. I hired a mechanic to do the engine swap, but he turned out to be a fraud, I paid him $5500 for labor and all the parts needed to complete the conversion from auto to manual. I contacted the police and they said they cannot do anything because he used fake names, the truck he drove was actually stolen because I wrote down his license plate number and the police ran it thru on there computer, the place where the car was taken to be worked on was in a trailer park and the people who were living there were also using fake names. January the fraud mechanic had the car towed back to my house without notifying me, I was in Canada with family. When I crossed the border I had voicemails from the towing company saying the driver is there with the car and needs to be paid and if I wasn't there within 15 mins they will tow it to there impound lot, I go there and the dispatcher was completely rude telling me it was my fault I should've been there even though I had no idea I even ordered a tow, I explained to him that it was somebody else and that I had no knowledge of it and he continued to ignore my explaination and made me pay $1800 in towing and storage fees plus another $275 to have the car towed to my house. When the driver dropped off my car he was about to leave and I said where's the key to the car and he said there was none, I had to pay another $175 to have a new key made from a locksmith. Before any I gave the car to the mechanic fraud, I purchased a T67 turbo kit which is setup for 750+hp, Supras are known for there very powerful engines so I wanted to give it alot of power, I also purchased a Titanmotorsports twin turbo fuel system, HKS chrome intercooler with piping, HKS cat-back dragger exhaust system, and an ACT performance clutch. I paid $8400 for just the car alone and $22000+ just on aftermarket performance parts, all the parts are brand new still in the box there just sitting collecting dust and taking up space, the car is in a storage unit, I had to make a mortgage payment of $9500 on my house this month otherwise they would foreclose on it, but I explained the situation to the mortgage company and they postponed foreclosure, but I have to make the payment by April 5th. I listed the car on Ebay and Craigslist with photos of everything that is going with the car and people are saying my price is too high (average Supra MK4 models cost $11k-$85k depending on the condition, mine only needs $400 to get the car running and it comes with over $20k+ in aftermarket parts including a turbo kit setup for 750hp! thats a steal). I am running out of time, money, and ideas. I tried parting the car out, but a few people who seemed interested said they would only pay $4500 for everything which I take as a slap in the face. Can someone PLEASE tell me what my best option would be??
68 camaro t5 or nv3500? I have a 1968 camaro with a 350 going in it and am deciding between two transmission setups.(well three if you count the original saginaw 3 speed) for $350, i can get a full nv3500 5 speed tranny setup from flywheel and starter to driveshaft with just under 7k miles on it. for $400, i can get a t5 5 speed tranny with 5k miles on rebuild with a new flywheel, new starter, and new clutch kit(clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing). I dont know which to buy. Both have hardly any miles, the t5 has more new stuff and a few less miles(since rebuild...other has 7k original miles without a rebuild), but how do they compare in performance? I dont know what kind of torque ratings these have, or really much about them at all. Please tell me all you can. The $50 price difference doesnt matter to me...I am probably going to talk them down anyway. Thanks in advance
2000 camaro z28 new parts questions. //motor/tranny? i'm looking for the following items... can anyone send me links to the best of each of these? 1. a GOOD performance clutch that i don't have to be able to leg press 450 pounds to use, though can handle 500-600 horses 2. what is the best intake manifold? i see a LOT of the "fast" ones advertised all over, but i'm wondering if they are actually the best ones, or if they just have the best marketing. 3. where can i find bigger fuel injectors? 4. i need a car tuner.. i'm fully aware of the TYPES of tuners, i see them advertised all over the place but..... my question to you is, Have you ACTUALLY USED one of whatever it is you're referring me to, and did it ACTUALLY do what it was supposed to? 5. a 6 speed tranny rebuild kit that includes the synchronizers and main seal gasket. 6. good flowing heads. i'm going to get an STS turbo system, and i think in order for it to really be taken advantage of, i'll need these things .. as well as a dickton of suspension stuff. which reminds me.... 7. a good locking rear differential. I think it's a common problem with all stock camaros, especially in this year range, if not - all-, but, when i hit the gas, it wants to fish tail.... usually sweeps out to the right making me go left. i want to go in a STRAIGHT line and not into a ditch or into the car next to me when i gun it... i see a lot of cars at the track that DO ... how can i make mine do that too? 8. a lowering kit that i can put on it WITHOUT having to do extra wheel camber work. 70cc Aerox bogging down? I've recently put a Parmakit 70cc kit on my 2006 Yamaha Aerox, now it has been run in I've decided to put a Polini Speed Control variator on as well. Now when I use full throttle from take off it just bogs down and the revs are really high even with the heaviest rollers supplied. How can i get it to have a quicker take off speed? I also have a kevlar belt and PM Tuning performance clutch fitted, and have been told that I may need a new carb jet and primary gears. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Considering buying an '88 Pontiac Fiero GT? The owner is selling it for 1,850 obo. the front window has a huge crack running through it. the fabric upholstery is a bit tattered. the body kit has scraps and small pieces missing, like part of the spoiler attached to the car. i'm not car savvy, but the owner lists that it has "new ignition system, new cooling system,new brakes, alloy wheels, performance clutch, AM/FM/CD, alarm system." and that is runs and drives great. also that it's owned by a mechanic. i've done some research, and found out that the fiero has it shares of problems. but would it be too much to handle if you don't know much about cars? also, what would be a fair price to ask for and how many mileage should i hoping for? oh, and what else should i be aware of?
Yamaha Rhino VS. Yamaha Grizzly? I'd like to know which would be better for me(I'm deciding between the Grizzly 700 FI EPS or the Rhino 700 FI) Which is more terrainable, and can climb steeper hills? which is less tippy. (Think I aldready know the answer to rthis one)Which would be better for a lot of work and then a good little bit of trail riding.(the Rhino is wider, but of all the trails that I normally ride, it isn't to wide excpet for one place, but there are a couple places where it and the Grizz are to tall because fallen trees the have a path under them. my honda rubs the tree with the top of the bars, and both the Grizz and Rhino are taller. This one doesn't really matter, but can I fit a stock Rhino, and a stock Big Bear(my friends) on a 6x12 trailer with a side loading option? A few Rhino question: If I get the rhino will there be anything that I need to check before riding very much(such a greasing a-arms). If I get a performance cdi box and a couple other mods, will I be able to break 50 on it? How much does a clutch kit cost and how hard is it to put in, and will it make the Rhino harder to shift? Do the brakes stop you good and do disk brakes wear fast? Is the parking brake apply the brakes on all four wheels? Also, would it work if the foot brake failed? For 08 is the foot brake hydrallic or mechanical, and is the parking brake hydrallic or manual? Is it hard to mount a winch on one? I think desertviper and camokodiac450 have already answered most of my questions on the Grizzly. Why does my little kawasaki ninja 250 set off car alarms? stage 3 jet kit k&n pod filters muzzy 2 into 1 performance exhaust. I just dont understand its not that loud. Im not reving it up when it happens. Example i have the clutch pulled in costing into a gas station BEEP BEEP BEEP or i go past a car 30 m.p.h. 6th gear BEEP BEEP BEEP Loud cars-trucks dont set them off so why does my motorcycle? I can hear myself talk. If I had the engine reved any lower it would die out im seriousley putt putt putting! A school bus is louder then this motorcycle when im creeping through town.

So IT IS possible to put a 5spd in a Crown Vic...? You will need to remove the old brake pedal assembly and (more than likely) fabricate a new bracket that holds a clutch and brake pedal assembly from a standard tranny car. (Look in a junk yard for parts that look like they will fit the available space under your dash.) You will also need to find a manual tranny flywheel for your engine. (Automatics and manuals use different flywheels) Then you'll have to match tranny mounting brackets (transmission mounts) to make sure the new tranny is properly mounted to the chassis. The clutch linkage must operate freely without binding or hitting other under hood and under body parts. The drive shaft may not be the right length as trannys differ in length. The floor shift mounts will probably need to be modified from some found in a junk yard. (brackets, shifter, boots, seals, linkage, etc.) Last you have to check the wiring diagram for any tranny mounted sensors that must be altered/disconnected/jumped to allow the ECU to get correct signals. Lots of work and lots of time. (and lots of trial and error and last, lots of money!) To be quite honest, it would be less expensive to have the automatic tranny tricked out. There are kits to change torque converter stall points and learning to shift an automatic like a manual, you can get about equal performance. 4th gear in the automatic is about the same ratio as 5th in the stick, so the top speeds would be similar. All that was told to me in a Best Answer. But here's the question: My '92 CV has a 4.6 liter V8. Would it be just a little easier if I buy another 4.6 liter with a 5spd tranny out of a mustang and using the parts from it, rather than buying just a tranny alone and scavenging parts?
2 stroke tuning tips anyone?? Im currently stripping my sons rs50 engine and i wana know wht i can do to improve his performance a little bit more. His setup so far is: 70cc kit with single piston ring, uprated and faster crank, new main c3 bearings, a bigger 21mm carb (stock 14mm) with open airfilter, carbon reeds stronger clutch and a racing exhaust. I wana know if i can do any internal work to improve the performance of the engine whilst its apart. I got told its a good idea to smooth the area on the crankcase around the crank with wet and dry untill all imperfections are out? porting? Anyone know anything else? Cheers No i dont want a 80cc as its a brand new 70cc kit on it atm! Polish the top of the piston? might give that a go. is there anything else i could do?

He says his mechanic told him the thrust bearing went out. Do you think its the thrust bearing or something else. Could the failure be caused by a high-performace clutch? And if not, what could it be? to avoid any more snide remarks, I'll clarify. He said to me about his new motor "it quit." So that's all i have to go on. I don't own this vehicle, so I'm not sure what actually happened to it. But I may pay to have a mechanic look over it or see if i can talk to the mechanic who diagnosed the problem.

Mitsubishi eclipse Gst 1997 clutch suggestions?
